Add sdf file to my project when my sources are on remote server

I have an application that runs on a PDA and manage a database (.sdf) file I use C# with visual studio 5.0.

What I want to do is to add the database file (.sdf) to my project files and open a connection to it.

The problem is that all my source file are stored on remote machine and not locally on my machine and the .sdf file is also stored with the project source files.

When I try to add the file to the project I get the following error fro the data source configuration wizard :

"An error occured while retrieving the information from the database"

DRIVE_REMOTE

Parameter Name : N:\

I get the same error also when I try to open a new connection to the file from the server explorer. When i copy the file to drive "C" I can open a connection to it with no errors.

Software engineer

Hello,

Remotely opening an sdf file (SSC database) is not supported. From desktop to device (DB on a device) access is possible, but, I don't think the other way is.

Thanks

Udaya.

Add new user with web service

Hi there,
Would like to manage users (adding, deleting) and give them browsing rights
to reports programmatically, using the web service. Can't find the method
allowing me to do it anywhere.
Am I missing something ?
Cheers
ggThere are several methods depending on what you want to accomplish. Given a
user you can give them system level privledges using SetSystemPolicies() or
privledges on individual items using SetPolicies(). A policy is a mapping
of a user to a role. Roles are managed via
CreateRole()/SetRoleProperties/etc.. and define the specific privledges you
want to assign. For your purposes you might want to use the predefined
"Browser" role.

add column disaster

Hi all, got a disaster on my hands,
ive added a field to a merge replication through the enterprise manager, in
the create manage publications, and its propogate ok to one server, but to
another server, when the merge agent runs, the agents timesout trying to add
the field, and its locking the users at the subscriber out, this table has
about 3 million rows in it. ive tried deleteing the contents, and even
truncating the contents of the table at both publisher and subscriber, but
this also locks out the users.
so the problem is that i cant run the merge agent as the field wont add at
the subscriber, times out and stops, so non of the data changes in the other
tables are getting fed accross.
Any help would be great cheers Andrew
use profiler to determine what process is locking with the merge agent
running on the subscriber and kill it. Try to keep all users off this
problem subscriber until it has completed.
