Add SSL to Report Server after installation

Hello All!
I made the mistake of not enabling SSL on report server when I installed it.
Does anyone know how I could go about enabling it after the fact? I have a
website on which I have applied our cert but anytime you go to the reports or
reportmanager virtual directory it sees this as unsecure. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

add second node to sql2005 clustered

Hi, where I can find a guide step-by-step to add a second node to
existing sql2005 cluster?
I have installed an istance only on first node and now I want add the
second one.
I run the setup but i don't see the option to add the new node.
The resources are off-line in the node that i'm going to install.
Thank and sorry for my bad english
..yo.mo.
Cluster modifications are no longer run from the setup CD. Use "Add/Remove
Programs" in control panel to make cluster modifications to SQL 2005
systems.

Add Reporting Services to Trusted Accounts

I installed SQL 2005 SP2 and RS add-in for Sharepoint to a WSS 3.0 site.

I get the error: 'A connection to the server cannot be established' when I try to use the sharepoint account set up for this purpose. It is in the farm administrators, and has the required permissions when I check the database. Are there any other recommended troubleshooting tips that I can do? Thanks.

Dan

FYI - I resolved the problem by adding the account to the local group WSS_RESTRICTED_WPG. This account needs to be in the Local Administrator's group, and the groups starting with WSS.

Add new datasource C++ sqlexpress does not work

I have Visual C++ Express edition and SQL Express edition installed. When I try to add a datasource, the only two choices are Microsoft Access and SQL Server File. This SQL one does not work when I select it with an error that it was "Unable to open the physical file x.mdf. Operating system error 32: 32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.). An attempt to attach an auto-named database.... When I do my own

System::Data::SqlClient::SqlConnection ^ c0;

System::Data::SqlClient::SqlCommand ^ k0;

System::Data::SqlClient::SqlDataReader ^ r0;

things work fine. Do I need to get a $ edition, download something extra, connect to the a different file (master.mdf and not x.mdf), repair/reinstall, ...?

I would note that it destroyed my msde mdf in previous attempts before I decided to try only the sql express server as a datasource.

I haven't really used VC++ express, but I'll have a go at solving the problem. You shouldn't need to buy the $ edition of SQL Server, or download something extra. In the past when I've seen this error, it has either been to do with file permissions or another instance being attached to the file. Verify that the user you're currently logged on as has full permissions on the file you are trying to connect to.

If this doesn't help, maybe post the connection strings you are using up.

For some reason I am not quite sure, when I tried to set up a datasource today after a reboot and not opening and debugging a project that had a manually written connection that worked, I was successful in getting the gui wizard to work.

Thanks.

|||Just adding them to the SQL Server group is not enough. They have to be
added as a dependency of the SQL Server resource.

Add connection error: 40

Hi i just reinstalled windows, and installed visual studio .net 2005 and the Sql server.

But when im trying to add connection, select my computer at Server

name, type a databasename then pressing OK i get this message:

An error has occured while estabilishing a connection to the server.

When connection to SQL server 2005, this faliure may be caused by the

fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote

connections. (provider: Names pipes provider, error: 40 - Could not

open a connection to SQL Server)

Does anyone know what todo?

hermanTry this: open the SQL Server Configuration Manager, expand SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration, highlight protocols for MSSQLSERVER and enable TCIP/IP.

add an Oracle linked server as a subscriber

Hi,
I have an Oracle 9i client installed on SQL Server 2000, and I want to add a linked Oracle server to SQL Server so that I can use the linked Oracle server as a subscriber, I got an error says 'OLEDB error, OLEDB error trace: initialize returned 0x80004005
', and I can not view the tables or views in the Oracle linked server, can anybody help me on this?
Hong
80004005 is generic access denied you need to use a login and password on
your linked server which maps to SYSDBA or SYSTEM on the Oracle server.

Add a third node to a cluster

I have two node SQL Enterprise installed on a Windows 2003 cluster running
active -active. I would like to add a third node so that it would become 2
active and 1 passive . Is this feasible ?
Also , can someone tell me how can I make the third node standby for the
other two ? Do I have to install any binary and executable on the third node
/ modify the possible owner ?
Raymond
Look at "How to add nodes to an existing virtual server (Setup)" in BOL. It
gives a step by step on how to do it.
After you ran that, follow the steps in the Service Pack readme that you
have installed on the other nodes.

To control failover you can use the Preferred Owners List on the Group
Property sheets. However if you have a Windows 2003 Cluster you can implement
AntiAffintityClassNames to make absolutely certain that a node that is in a
passive role take ownership of a group in the event of a failure. See the
following KB for details on how to setup.
